What to they do with the whales catch?

What to they do with the whales catch? I know they still have Whaling Ships in Russia, and Japan but what do they do with the wales, eat them, use their fat fat for oil, use the skin for some kind of leather, use the bones for something, or have wild and ungodly with them. I know they don't kill them for the fun of it, there has to be some monetary gain from it.
